1. Who We Are
CLS Academy is a JEE and NEET coaching institute based in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India, operated by CLS Edutech Private Limited. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information obtained through our mobile application ("App") and web platform ("Platform").

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account and Profile Data
- Full name, phone number, email address
- Roll number (auto-assigned by the institute)
- Class, course, and batch enrollment details
- Profile completion status
2.2 Academic Data
- Attendance records (date, status, subject)
- Test and exam results entered by authorized teachers
- Teaching plans and learning resources shared by faculty
- Class timetables and exam schedules
2.3 Communication Data
- Doubt session bookings and queries
- Complaints or feedback submitted via the App
- Announcements and notifications you receive
2.4 Device and Usage Data
- Push notification token (Expo / Firebase Cloud Messaging) — used only to deliver relevant in-app notifications
- App version, device OS type (collected by Expo telemetry)
- Crash reports and error logs (used for debugging)
2.5 Payment Data
Fee payments are processed through PayU. We do not store card numbers, UPI credentials, or bank account details. We retain fee transaction IDs and payment status records for accounting and dispute resolution.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and operate the ERP features of the Platform (attendance, results, schedules)
- Authenticate your identity and maintain session security
- Send push notifications about attendance, results, announcements, and fee reminders
- Allow teachers and administrators to manage academic records within the institute
- Process fee payments and generate receipts
- Investigate complaints and support requests
- Improve and debug the App through aggregated, anonymised usage data
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising or share it with third-party advertisers.
4. Data Sharing
We share data only to the extent necessary to operate the Platform:

All third-party services listed above have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
5. Data Retention
- Active account: data retained for the duration of enrollment and for a period of 3 years after last activity, for academic record-keeping purposes.
- Deleted account: profile data anonymised or deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request. Fee records retained for 7 years per tax law.
- Push tokens: removed immediately when you sign out or revoke notification permissions.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is used by students, some of whom may be under 18. We collect only the minimum data required to provide academic services. Accounts for minor students are created and managed by the institute on behalf of the student and their guardian. Parents or guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data by contacting us at clsedutech.india@gmail.com.
7. Your Rights
You may request at any time:
- Access — a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — fix inaccurate or incomplete information
- Deletion — erasure of your account and associated data (subject to legal retention obligations)
- Portability — export of your academic records in a readable format
- Opt-out of notifications — revoke push notification permission in your device settings at any time

8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including Firebase Authentication (JWT-based sessions), Firestore security rules that restrict data access by role and centre scope, and HTTPS for all data in transit. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
9. Cookies and Local Storage
The web platform uses cookies solely for authentication session management. The mobile App does not use browser cookies. Neither platform uses tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Platform evolves. Material changes will be announced via in-app notification and will be reflected in an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
